Iceland’s first PSD2-compliant payment system, enabling seamless direct bank payments without traditional card networks. Challenges
One of the obvious challenges of this project was applying for a PSD2 License from the Central Bank of Iceland. Other challenges, such as technical challenges included creating a secure payment system from scratch with a micro-service architecture and finding a proper way for iPhone users to "tap-and-pay" using the iPhones NFC chip.
Product Design
Creating a payment app for consumers in the early 2020's was not without its headaches, seeing that Apple Pay had already set the bar pretty high with their intuititve user experience. Our product design was focused around making sure that users would be able to pay on-site with their NFC (tap-and-pay) as well as make it easier for users to complete their online transactions.
